Course Description (EST-Online-Snowsports School Management Webinar Series 1):

Are you interested in moving into a management role in your snowsports school? Are you already a supervisor, manager, or trainer and looking to up your game? Join us to learn the trade secrets that go into being a good program manager, supervisor, or trainer. In this webinar, we will explore the ingredients that make a snowsports school program successful for both students and the resort, what makes it interesting, and what makes students (and instructors) want to come back year after year. Our panel of Eastern snowsports program managers will share their experiences on how to make a program or school successful, how to become a good supervisor, as well as how to further your career in the industry. We will discuss the teaching skills as they relate to assessing students and planning lessons and programs, implementing the plan, and reflecting on the learning and applying it to new situations.

Know before you go:

Reflect on what makes the programs at your home resort successful. How could they be better? Bring with you what you think makes a good program supervisor: what do they know about teaching best practices that make their programs top-notch? Please bring your questions with you as there will be time to ask them during the webinar.

Course Description (EST-Online-Snowsports School Management Webinar Series 2):

Explore the "dos" and "don'ts" of Guest Service in this one-hour webinar, moderated by Tina Buckley. The total Guest Experience, from arriving in the parking lot to leaving for home again after an exciting day at the resorts, will be put under the microscope of the PSIA-AASI People Skills. Peter Howard, (Training Director - Sugarloaf) who will be sharing ideas for class management together with Eric Lipton (Snow Operating) and Chris Dayton (Supervisor - Middlebury College Snow Bowl School) will be the panelists for a vivid discussion about the endless possibilities of excellent guest service in the snowsports industry.

Know Before you go:

To prepare for this webinar, think about how your experience as an instructor creates a heightened guest experience. How do we use the People Skills components of the Learning Connection to welcome and assist our guests (and their parents, grandparents...)? Bring your questions and ideas for this engaging webinar where we will explore the most interpersonal part of our daily assignments.

Course Description (EST-Online-Snowsports School Management Webinar Series 3):

Want to explore fun ways to inspire your staff to bring teaching concepts to life? Join us for a Snowsports Management Webinar Series event focused on training, featuring a specific focus on sharing technical skills. The heart of our calling is the ability to perform, understand, and explain the sport. Our panel of Eastern industry pros will share their experiences developing effective training programs that build instructors who excel at delivering engaging lessons adapted to their students' ability levels or desired outcomes. Potential topics include building a training culture, recognizing staff needs and developing content to fulfill them, and training your team for success at certifications and accreditations.

Know before you go:

Think hard about your training experiences. What makes a good clinician? What about a good training program? What keeps instructors engaged in training? What deflates their enthusiasm? Bring the panel your best insights and questions.
